Emma Rachel Jensen
Born 6/10/12 at 8:27 p.m.
Weighed 7#11oz. 19" long
Sunday morning I started contracting around 5 a.m. I decided to go to the hospital around 11 a.m. and thought once I arrived it wouldn't be long but "our baby" had different plans. They were going to break my water since I was in active labor but when they went to do so they discovered Emma had her hand above her head and the cord was very close to her face. Both of those factors can be scary in labor and delivery so I was glad my nurse and good friend Kelly was overly cautious with us and our baby. Finally the baby moved into a better position and they broke my water around 7 p.m. Little baby Emma was born at 8:27 p.m. The delivery was a breeze and Jeremy and I were both shocked when the nurse said "it's a girl!" Kelly said our faces were priceless :) It was such a wonderful experience and we are so truly blessed to have our healthy baby girl with us now!
The boys are so excited to have a baby sister. They came up to the hospital after we had her and noticed right away they had a sister as we had put a bow on her head :) The 24 hours we were in the hospital Bridger anxiously waited at home for us to bring Emma home with us. He is going to be a great help and a wonderful big brother and example. He loves to hold and snuggle her. Connor hasn't quite picked up the concept that he has a baby sister but I'm sure he will soon enough. Emma is safe in her bassinet otherwise Connor is right in her face and pointing to all her facial parts (eyes, nose, ears, cheeks, etc) She was laying on the couch and the next thing I knew Connor said let's bounce and was jumping right next to her. Hopefully she survives day 2 of life :)
Welcome Emma Rachel!!!

Happy Birthday!

Dear Connor,
I can't believe you are 2 today! Seems like yesterday you were just a tiny baby with a head full of dark hair and the cutest chubby cheeks. What a joke that you were born on April Fools Day, as nobody believed us and yet daddy and I were both exhausted from the 12 hour wait for you to arrive. We still joke about that to this day! You make daddy and I laugh everyday as we wonder where you got your stubborn yet funny and loving personality. You admire Bridger and want to do everything he does. Just last night he was reading you a book and I started to cry as I watched you both just giggle at each other, (tears of joy seeing how close my boys are.) I often tell you I want you to stay little forever but we love watching you grow up and are excited to see what age "2" brings us. You love babies and I am sure when ours arrives in June, you will love your little brother or sister so much. We love you little Coniferous, Connie, Connor and our little buster!
Love,
Mom
P.S. You were being very quiet while I wrote this and I found you dipping my hair brush in the toilet, oh how there is never a dull moment with you :)

The Helmet
While in Utah, we went to Sports Authority. Bridger and Jeremy were looking at baseball stuff and tricky little Connor found a helmet that he loved. He kept wearing it and when it came time to leave, he refused to take it off. We bought it considering Bridger is going to play T ball this summer and likes to practice out in the yard while
Connor tends to not pay attention. We figured it would save his cute precious little head from any damage :)
Well the little buster wore it for almost 5 consecutive days minus naps and bedtime. He looked pretty funny and made quite a few people giggle when they saw him. I also tried to buy him some new shoes but when I took his boots off, he told me "put boots on." I guess it could be an interesting summer with a baseball helmet on backwards and cowboy boots. If you can't tell from the pictures- he is all boy!!! Bridger is getting excited about T ball, especially since Jeremy is going to be his coach. We also bought him a helmet but he wears it the correct way :) I had to laugh about them riding in their cars in the driveway with helmets on, guess you never can be too careful. Bridger sure does look pretty cute in his baseball get up!
Enjoy....

Utah Trip
Last week Jeremy and I were both off work so we decided to head to Utah for a few days. We stayed with grandma Gilbert since Shayla's kids had been sick. Grandma Gilbert has always been such a great host and I am grateful my kids are able to get to know her and are able to spend time with her. Connor walked around the house looking at all the pictures of grandpa and would ask "grandpa go?" It brought tears to my eyes as my grandpa passed away 5 weeks before Connor was born, I sure have missed him but what great knowledge we have knowing this life isn't the end.
We enjoyed our time just hanging out with grandma! Jeremy can sure get her giggling because of all his jokes :) I am pretty sure she had fun giving him a hard time back. We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked with Shayla, Brig, and kids but still were able to see them and even have a picnic before we left to come home.
We did some shopping, had a quick lunch with Lucas since he had a layover in SLC, and visit Temple Square as a family! Bridger made me laugh as he and Connor ran around the temple grounds, he told me he learned about temples and he even sang a song about it in primary. He told me we can be a family forever because of temples and is that so true! What a wonderful blessing!
He kept wanting me to take a picture of him in front of this waterfall and was very persistent. Later, he told Shayla he took a picture and was going to have me (his mom) print it off so Grandma Gilbert could have a new picture of him. He told her it was a surprise. Bridger is so stinking sweet and has a huge heart. I often lack in taking family pictures and updating grandma's and grandpa's so I am going to try and be better thanks to Bridge!

Had to share...
Our conversation tonight... I had to blog it right after it took place so I didn't forget any of it because it was so cute! By the way, Jeremy and I have both noticed a huge difference with our little Bridger since his tonsils were taken out. He feels so much better and I am so grateful we went through with it! We love our little Bridger!
Bridger: mom I have a stomachache and don't think I can go to bed
Me: Bridger, go to bed
Bridger: I actually feel fine, I just want to snuggle
Me: ok, go get your blanket
Bridger: (while snuggling) I wish I knew what our baby is
Me: what do you think it is?
Bridger: a girl
Me: hmmmm
Bridger: (giggling) what if it's a Japanese girl?
Me: uh that would be a problem
Bridger: what sports do you think little Japanese girls play? Maybe karate.
I was giggling during most of the conversation because he says such funny and cute things. He is so excited for the baby to get here- he never fails to say a prayer without mentioning the baby. He only tells me he thinks it's a girl because if Jeremy is around he acts all tough and says he thinks it's a boy :)

Best friends
Can you believe I got out of bed at 5:00 this morning to enroll Bridger for kindergarten!? Sad day. On a happy note, yesterday we went to Walmart since we hadn't been out of the house for almost a week and these 2 hoodlums (literally) held hands in the aisle and were being so cute! Unfortunately, we had to pick up a prescription for Jeremy who has strep throat :(
(not really sure why Bridger had his hood up)
