A few funnies of the day

After watching the election last night at work, I was quite saddened and disappointed. I came home this morning and found Bridger anxiously waiting for me. The first thing he said was he missed me and couldn't wait to talk to me. We had about an hour conversation over the election and I just wanted to share some of that.
Me: "Obama won."
Bridger: "oh no" with tears in his eyes "are you and daddy going to lose your jobs?"
I went on to explain that we won't lose them right away and that our economy in Wyoming especially Gillette is fueled by coal and oil but if things don't pickup we might not have them in the future. My poor little Bridger was so concerned. He is so sweet and compassionate that he told me "mom good thing you have 2 jobs so in case you lose 1, you still have the other" I had to laugh. He than went on to explain that he has been saving money in his piggy bank and if he needs to he will give it all to us and he has "so much" saved up. Our little conversation made me cry but also made me so proud for the heart Bridger has. I'm so lucky he's my little buster. On the way to school, he asked "mom how did Obama win when there was all that red on the map?" I realized he's too smart for his own good and I attempted to explain the electoral college to the best of my ability to a 6 year old. Tonight in his prayers he said "we pray for Romney that he may try again except win the next time." Jeremy and I looked at each other and both had to giggle.
We are proud to be American and hope and pray the future is brighter and better for all!

Halloween 2012

What a fun day for these skeletons and our little lady bug! Bridger had fun at his school party than we enjoyed trick or treating for a few hours. Our neighbor told the boys they could have as much as they wanted, Bridger politely grabbed one piece, while Connor grabbed a handful :) guess he got my sweet tooth! The weather was beautiful, 70* and sunny! The boys enjoyed sitting on the porch waiting for trick or treaters and fighting over who got to hand the candy out.

Random

Bridger....
Loves school
Is the best big brother
Turned 6 on September 29th
Loves to play legos, read books, hold Emma, build forts, play/fight with Connor!

Connor...
Is halfway potty trained
Is stubborn as a mule
Is still quiet and sneaky as ever
Loves his big brother and little sister
Still dislikes going to nursery
Smiles when you get mad or discipline him
Has the sweetest voice ever

Emma...
Rolls all over
Sucks her thumb!
Is starting to eat baby food
Sometimes sleeps all night
Loves her brothers
Laughs/giggles/coo's constantly
Is content when there is noise

Life is busy as ever for us Jensen's! We are enjoying having my mom live with us this year. Jeremy is getting ready to start a new job which we are super excited about. I am still working part time at the hospital and have been working some at a surgery center here in Gillette. We are looking forward to a trip to Hawaii in December!

Connor...

I forgot to mention what Connor did this morning before we took Bridger to school. I left the 3 of them in the living room while I was getting ready. I came back out to find Emma with soggy bread all around her. Connor pipes up "I fed Emma bread!" I tried to be as kind as possible to tell him he couldn't do that. He must've been putting it in her mouth and she kept spitting it back out. Little buster.

One of many firsts...

Today I saw my firstborn off to school. The last week I have dreaded this morning. I have cried multiple times and yesterday Bridger told me how much he was going to miss us. In the last hour Connor has asked 6 times "is Bridger done with school yet?" I am excited for Bridger because I know how well he will do and how excited he is for school to finally get here. On the other hand, seeing how little he is and how grown up he seems makes this much harder. The tears are rolling down my cheeks just thinking about it. He had his outfit all laid out last night like I used to when I was little. He was up at 6:30 dressed and ready to go. I think it was disappointing to him when I told him we still had a couple of hours before he needed to be there. Bridger you will do great and this is only one of your firsts as you have many more to come! We miss you like crazy but we are excited to hear about your day when we pick you up!

On a funny note, this is a list of things Bridger has said or asked in the past few weeks...
"mom what if I have to drop a deuce at school?"
"mom, can I be home schooled liked Max?"
"mom, I guess you can run errands with Connor since I have to go to school."
"mom, what if I don't have any friends?"
"mom, can we go through the book
Club?" (this was during open house at his school- I was confused at what he was asking) he than went on to explain the room with all the books at school. "the library, duh!"

Where has summer gone?

Over 2 months have passed since I blogged about our newest addition, Emma. We have quickly adjusted to life with 3 kids, especially a little girl. In Emma's first few months of life we have traveled and done so much. My parents came up the week Emma was born as did Chelsie and her kids. We had such a blast spending time with them. The end of June, Connor Emma and I drove to Utah for a few days with Chelsie and kids. It was fun to see grandma Gilbert especially seeing her with little Emma considering she is her namesake :) Jeremy stayed home with Bridger to work on our basement bedrooms which are completed and look fabulous! We also made a family trip to Denver to hang out with the Udalls and Waldmanns for a weekend! We took the kids to an alpine slide and carnival! Aunt Jewls was also there for the weekend and so she was able to take Connor down the slide while I stayed behind with Emma. Connor loved it! Emma and I made another trip to Denver the weekend before my birthday for a girls weekend where we saw Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney in concert! It was a blast hanging out with my sisters, mom, Vanessa and my cousin Jessica! I came home on my birthday (I turned the precious age of 26) to my little boys having the barfs which wasn't fun for anyone. They recovered rather quick! Jeremy's sister Jenell and her kids spent a few weeks here in the summer from Texas and oh how fun it was to hang out with them! Our kids would have had sleepovers every night if we would've let them. They spent numerous hours jumping on the tramp, playing in the water and playing dress up at Grandma's house! I have fond memories spending summers at my Grandma's house playing with my cousins so it's fun to see my children doing the same thing! Shayla and her kids came up the first week in august and spent a week at our house. We were able to take the kids to the cool science adventurarium here in Gillette. Bridger and max enjoy using their amazing imaginations and spent hours playing! Peanut and Connor were quite funny this time around. Poor Connor has trouble pronouncing "Avie"; his v's sound like b's. So peanut thought Connor was calling her Abby instead of Avie, so being the smart little thing she is told him "fine if you keep calling me Abby I'm going to call you Conter instead of Connor." it made Shayla and I giggle! Connor kept trying to explain that he was calling her Avie and not Abby buy he was and still is called Conter these days!
Bridger starts kindergarten next week, I cry at the thought of it so we will save that for next week when I'm drowning in my sorrows. Although funny story that happened today.... Jeremy, Connor, and Emma were napping today so Bridger and I ran some errands together. We were driving and talking about him going to school. He is super worried about how we are going to function without him being around and what or who Connor will play with since he will be gone so much at school. Then he said the funniest thing. being so serious he asked "mom, what will I do if I need to drop a deuce at school?" (that's what we call going poop at our house) he went onto explain that he has only ever done that at our house and Grandma's house. Most of you know what a private and shy kid Bridger is when it comes to using the restroom, (locks the door and all). Poor kid! I guess if going poop at school is the biggest concern he has we are doing pretty well I suppose :) It made me giggle for quite sometime.
Life at the Jensen house is flying by! We have enjoyed our summer especially since I have been on maternity leave! I go back to work Sunday night- Emma sleeps pretty well at night but isn't taking a bottle the greatest so please remember Jeremy in your prayers this weekend as he will be tending all 3 kids. Alone. For a night! He's a super dad so he will be just fine and I'm so lucky I don't ever worry about him or the kids while I'm working.
